Rachel is an illustrator and educator. Her interest in place, heritage and participation are explored through her work, encompassing image-making, object-making, public engagement, exhibition and workshop design.

Her practice is based on research and explores ideas around narrative and place, utilising and adapting field methods and archival research. Her process is underpinned by observation; drawing, photography, the written word and sound in a poetic investigation of her surroundings. Finding poetry in the everyday, she makes quiet images that play with the power of mark making to evoke meaning and emotion.

Her prints and drawing works, books and artefacts are forms used by Rachel to make sense of her research, and explore the space between fact and fiction, image and artefact and it's effect on audience experience.
